Translation

SDL TradosTranslation is the act of interpreting the meaning of a document in a language, and producing a text that has an equivalent meaning to a reader of a different language and culture.

1. Allocate the time required
The author invested a lot of time and professional efforts drafting the text. The translator also needs time to do justice to the original text.

2. Who is the author?
The translator must have access to the author for explanations or clarifications, if necessary.

3. Who is the reader?
Who will read the text? Knowing who will be the target audience makes it possible to use the correct terminology and style.

4. Information on the subject
The client must be able to provide documents containing similar information to the text to be translated, in order to ensure the text’s linguistic uniformity and style.

5. The more complex the project, the more steps in the process
